Events are held year-round in Camarillo. Examples of events include:
- Arts and Crafts Fairs/Festivals
- Halloween Carnival
- Christmas Parade
Remember, all events need assistance with set-up and clean up. Often, this is the most important assistance that is needed. You may volunteer your services at any or all events.
The Parks Department has a number of rewarding projects that require dedicated community volunteers.
Park improvement opportunities include projects appropriate for individuals and groups as large as 100 volunteers. Opportunities include projects as diverse as tree planting, landscaping, site improvements, painting, concrete work, gazebos and other construction projects.
If you or your group has an interest in making a difference in the community please contact Matt Parker (805) 482-5396.
Have fun and assist energetic children and adults. Must be enthusiastic and motivated. Partner with us as we provide a challenging, age-appropriate environment to create opportunities to help children mature emotionally, socially, physically and academically.
There are many ways you can support the work of the Senior Center including contributing your time, talent, and treasure. Our programs offer social and recreational opportunities, which combat isolation and promote good health among seniors. Program examples include Bingo, pool tournaments, dances, excursions, seminars, and adult classes.
Assist the District staff at the Administration office located at 1605 E. Burnley Street in Camarillo, with typing, filing, computer projects, and more. No experience may be necessary, we may train you. Learn to type, or improve your skills in a no-pressure office setting with flexible hours. This can be a great way to ease back into a work setting. Keep up your skills while job hunting or learn new skills to make yourself more marketable to an employer.
Please do not show up to volunteer at any of the events or groups.
We make a schedule of volunteers for each event, and provide the event supervisor with your emergency information in case your parents, guardian, or significant other is needed. If you are doing volunteer work for school credit, please bring the necessary paperwork with you to the site for the supervisor to sign.
