Jr. Ranger Program

Children ages 5-12 can become a PVRPD Junior Ranger! We offer nature education classes geared toward learning about flora, the environment, and fauna. Participate in two flora, two enviornmental, and two fauna classes or hikes and children can earn a badge from each area.

Enroll in the "Becoming a Junior Ranger" class to be sworn in as a Junior Ranger and earn the exculsive patch. To view class descriptions see below.

Cost: $15/$18.75 per class

Ages: 5-12

Becoming a Jr. Ranger 

This class will have participants explore Camarillo Grove Park, learn about locally native fauna and flora, and enjoy a hike on the Daryl Wagar trail before being sworn in as official Camarillo Grove Park Junior Rangers and receiving their patch.

Flora Classes 

Discover the magic behind pollination and how it contributes to the growth of vibrant flowers, fruits, and a thriving ecosystem.

Classes vary each program guide/season; Fall, Winter/Spring, Summer. 

Fauna Classes 

Animals are sometimes hard to see, but with observation skills we can use evidence to figure out where they’ve been and what they’ve been doing. Learn basic tracking skills and how to look for evidence of animals.

Environmental Classes 

Learn about the different water cycles, cooking with the sun's energy, and more.
